Zodiac Signs and Ages

Just about everyone has heard of the Zodiac signs. What is the meaning of them? What is the purpose for them? What does this band of constellation have to do with humanity or the world? In common knowledge, it is used for daily horoscopes or to mark the day you were born. You can hear most people saying, “I am a Pisces. What sign are you?”

This page will cover, “What are the Zodiac signs?” and “What is the true order of the arrangement?”

What are the Zodiac Signs?

As defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the Zodiac are as follows:

  • 1a: an imaginary band in the heavens centered on the ecliptic that encompasses the apparent paths of all the planets and is divided into 12 constellations or signs each taken for astrological purposes to extend 30 degrees of longitude
  • 1b: a figure representing the signs of the zodiac and their symbols

The imaginary band has meanings, symbols and are seen in mythology and religion. First let’s go through the list of the actual signs as they are listed for the rest of the world:

  • Aries (The Ram)
  • Taurus (The Bull)
  • Gemini (The Twins)
  • Cancer (The Crab)
  • Leo (The Lion)
  • Virgo (The Virgin)
  • Libra (The Scales)
  • Scorpio (The Scorpion)
  • Sagittarius (The Centaur)
  • Capricorn (The Goat-Fish)
  • Aquarius (The Water-Bearer)
  • Pisces (The Fishes)

With that list, they always start the first sign by the Spring Equinox. All through Science, Religion, and Mythology, everything starts with creation. Creation of the universe, creation of the world, creation of gods, and creation of humans. So by the list above, Aries is the sign that marks the point of creation, right?

List of why that could be right:

  • Aries marks the start of Spring, which is the rebirth of all things on earth after a long winter.
  • Aries is the ram, which is used in mythology and religion to symbolize certain things.
  • The holiday of Easter, which uses the Easter Egg, is used to symbolize rebirth and fertility.

List of why it could be wrong:

  • By Plato each age is about 2,160 years, which would put the start of Aries around 4,000 BC. That means that that would be when the Creation started but, through another page on this website called, “Were there species of humans before Adam?” Humans have been on the earth since at least 3.8 million years ago. If that is the case, then Aries couldn’t be the point of creation.
  • There are many myths or stories concerning the transition from Taurus to Aries. First, Theseus and the Minotaur. Second, Jason and the Golden Fleece. Third, Moses and the Ten Commandments. These show a transition of the world from the age of Taurus to the age of Aries, which is explained on the page in this website called, “What does it mean for the world?” With those events happening during that time, the first man and woman were created many years before that so, Aries still couldn’t be the point of Creation.

So, what is the first Zodiac Sign or age of humanity? How do we figure it out? Science, Religion, and a new perspective is involved in this.

With Science, determining the North Stars is the key. With Religion, knowing what the signs symbolize for the world or for an individual. With a new perspective, you have to put it all together.

It depends on which way you want to travel first.
